Request: Fixing Issues with Japanese Text and Hidden Spaces

Not available

Currently, when you add or search for Japanese text in developer platform using a type conversion system (such as Microsoft IME), a hidden space called a “zero width space” can be added to the text. This invisible space makes it hard for the Developer Platform to match your search or filter properly.

This means:

  • Text with hidden spaces may not match searches or filters correctly.

  • You might only get one result instead of all the ones you expect.

For example, if you use a Japanese type conversion tool to enter an app name in the Developer Platform, and then later try to search or filter for it, you may see fewer results than you should—because of the hidden zero width spaces.
