Understanding Preset Markups for Just Jolly Site's Pages

By default, preset markups are added to some of your pages when you create them. These are Blog posts and Forum posts.

Search engines like Google can also use markup to create rich results like article previews, product previews, and FAQs for your page's search results.

Preset markup basics

The preset markups that are automatically created for your post's pages use SEO best practices to give search engines optimized information about your pages. These preset markups also use variables to create dynamic code. Variables are pieces of text that represent a value, or text that's a placeholder for a value.

Using variables, you can include information that varies from page to page based on the actual content of the page. For example, the preset markup for Just Jolly Shop product pages uses a number of placeholder variables including:

  • Product Name

  • Product Description

  • Product Brand

  • Product Price

The actual information that is used for these placeholder variables depends on the product information that is on each page. This means that the preset markup is automatically customized for each of pages and creates unique rich results for every product.

Click a heading below to learn more about the different types of preset markups for your post's pages.

Blog posts

When you create a Blog post, system automatically creates a Blog preset markup for it. All the fields and values are automatically updated in the markup based on the actual content of the blog post.

There are three preset markups for blog posts:

  • Article (Blog Posting) Markup - This is the default preset markup

  • Article (News Article) Markup

  • Article Markup

Each of these preset markups tell search engines that the page includes a certain type of blog content and helps them include relevant information in search results.

For example, the Article (Blog Posting) Markup can help Google provide rich results that include information such as the post's author, category, published date, and headline.

Forum posts

When you create a Forum post, system automatically creates a Questions and Answers markup for it. All the fields and values are automatically updated in the markup based on the actual content of the forum post.

This preset markup tells search engines that the page includes questions and answers and helps them include relevant information in search results.

For example, the markup can help Google provide rich results that include information such as the post's title, author, content, and published date.
